Point Royal Community Action Day
Community action days are part of new plans for community investment being introduced at Silva Homes. We had feedback from customers at events that said they would like more opportunities to talk to us within their local communities and these days provide a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with our customers to discuss and address any issues to do with properties, or in the community.
At the Point Royal community action day, we spoke to 28 customers and supported them with a range of issues, from repairs and bulky waste removal, to grounds maintenance and estate services.
Some minor repairs were carried out for customers on the day, and other, more complicated repairs were booked in by the team.
We were also supported by representatives from Thames Valley Police and Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
And we were delighted to welcome local Bracknell Forest councillor, Helen Purnell and the Mayor of Bracknell Town, Simon Carter.
Olivia Fuller, our community investment manager, said:
“It’s always a pleasure to get out into our communities and speak to our customers about the issues that matter to them.
“Just today, we were able to complete some minor repairs, clear away some of the bulky items that were cluttering our customer’s homes and tidy up the grounds in and around the block. We were also able to book in follow-up repairs and appointments for those who needed them.
“A big thank you to everyone who supported the community action day. It was fantastic to see colleagues from a variety of teams across Silva and Abri working together for the benefit of our customers.”
Our second successful community action day is just one of the ways that demonstrates how joining the Abri group is already making a positive difference for our customers. We plan to run many more of these in future.
