We want to be equal, diverse and inclusive
We put equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of our business, aiming to give all our customers and colleagues an equal experience, regardless of cultural background, age, class, disability, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, faith, language or health.
That’s why our board has committed to ensuring that our approach to equality, diversity, and inclusion goes beyond compliance with our legal and regulatory responsibilities. In particular, we want to be an organisation in which customers, colleagues and board members can thrive, whatever their circumstances.
We champion equality, diversity and inclusion by:
Ensuring that equality and diversity is a natural part of what we do and think.
Meeting our statutory requirements and going beyond this as much as possible, by taking positive action and building a culture for customers and colleagues that champions equality and diversity.
Promoting a culture where we value and celebrate diversity amongst colleagues and customers.
Maintaining fair representation where we are doing well and improving representation in areas where we could improve.
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion action group
Silva’s colleague Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) action group meets regularly to ensure that these values are embedded in our everyday practice, policies and procedures, both as a housing association and as an employer.
