An update on the Abri group’s plans for Sawyers Close, Windsor

The Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead (RBWM) has approved the Abri group's plans for the regeneration of Sawyers Close in Windsor. The proposals, which are overwhelmingly supported by the Abri group’s customers, will see the existing buildings demolished and 413 high-quality affordable homes built, both on the existing site and on open space adjacent, transferred to the Abri group by RBWM. You can read more about it here.

Initial Demolition Notice

There’s still a lot to do before full planning permission is granted, but in anticipation, the Abri group are now starting to prepare Sawyers Close before construction starts.

On Monday 15 January, all households at the four blocks at Sawyers Close received an Initial Demolition Notice (a formal legal document). This is part of the legal process the Abri group need to follow to move forward with the proposed regeneration. It doesn't mean that demolition is about to start, it'll only take place once customers have moved out of their existing homes, and demolition is not planned to start until 2026 at the earliest.

You can find out more about the Initial Demolition Notice here.
