Outdoor communal area FAQs

Below are some frequently asked questions about the kinds of things you are allowed and not allowed to do in our outdoor communal areas and gardens.

Can I have a BBQ in the communal gardens/grounds?

No, the fire risk to a communal building is too great to allow for BBQs to take place in communal garden/grounds spaces.

If we find a BBQ in a communal area, we will notify you and give you five days to remove it. If it hasn’t been removed, we will remove it and the cost will be recharged back to you.

Can I have a paddling pool in the communal gardens/grounds?

No, we don’t allow paddling pools to be erected and used in the communal grounds. This is because the paddling pools and the equipment used to fill them are considered a health and safety hazard and could lead to severe injury or fatality.

If we find a paddling pool in a communal area, we will notify you and give you five days to remove it. If it hasn’t been removed, we will remove it and the cost recharged back to you.

Can I have a trampoline in the communal garden/grounds?

No, we don’t allow trampolines to be erected and used in the communal grounds. This is because trampolines are large and could spoil your neighbour’s enjoyment of the communal gardens/grounds. They also often lead to complaints like noise pollution. Trampolines are also a health and safety hazard that could lead to severe injury or fatality.

If we find a trampoline in a communal area, we will notify you and give you five days to remove it. If it hasn’t been removed, we will remove it and the cost will be recharged back to you.

Can I sit out in the communal garden/grounds?

Yes, you can but we would ask that you act reasonably and consider your neighbours. This includes not obstructing communal footpaths, shouting, sunbathing directly under neighbour’s windows, or playing loud music at unreasonable times.

Can I put a garden bench or garden furniture out in the communal gardens/grounds?

This is discouraged as not everyone will agree where they are placed. Also, you could be held responsible if they are not maintained properly and cause a hazard or injury.

Customer feedback

"I want you to know that the lady and gentleman were so nice, listened to my concerns about displacing current nesting birds etc. They worked really hard and they have done a magnificent job, considering the amount of Ivy and dead leaves they had to contend with they did a first-rate job. They were courteous and cheerful and definitely not afraid of hard work. Will you please extend my thanks to them both for their efforts to trim back the foliage whilst not disturbing the nesting birds that were in the tree. You should be very proud of these workers."
