Silva Homes launches design guide ensuring high-quality new-build homes

We want all our new homes and neighbourhoods to be places where people and communities thrive.

We have produced the Silva design guide to help our development partners understand our aspirations, and to make sure that all new homes and neighbourhoods developed by us are focused on reaching the high standards we expect from our partnerships and developments.

In short, it is a simple, visual document that considers national and local policy, regulations, and the standards we want to achieve.

But it is much more than that. We will use it with contractors, developers and designers from the inception of all new development projects to lay solid foundations for all the new homes we build.

The guide is split into four key themes:

  1. The design process sets out how high-quality design should be procured and developed.

  2. Positive integration considers the wider impact of our developments to ensure they contribute positively to their local surroundings and communities.

  3. High-quality places ensures we create successful places that are welcoming, characterful, and sustainable.

  4. High-quality homes ensures we create high-quality homes, focusing on well-being, sustainability, and construction.

Laura Johnson, executive director of assets and growth, said: “We want our customers to live in homes that are safe, secure, sustainable and most importantly affordable. The Silva Design Guide helps us to deliver that vision for the new places we create.”

Pankaj Vara, lead growth partner of new homes and regeneration added: “In line with our strategy for growth, we are excited to be focusing our efforts on land-led and partnership opportunities to build more homes where people want to live, and our Silva Design Guide reflects our ambition to achieve this.”
