The estate services team is dedicated to taking care of the estates to keep them clean, safe and tidy. The team carry out routine duties and provide a response service to reported incidents, which are monitored and recorded. We also work with other local agencies to maintain estates and communal areas.
All estates managed by Silva Homes are regularly visited by the estate services team to check lighting, security, cleaning, test fire alarms where applicable and carry out general caretaking duties around blocks of flats. We pro-actively identify vandalism, graffiti, fly-tipping and other forms of anti-social behaviour, then we liaise with the police, local councils and other organisations to solve any problems.
The estate services team also responds to reported incidents of illegally dumped rubbish, abandoned trolleys, untaxed or abandoned vehicles and health and safety issues. We also carry out a graffiti cleaning service. Up to 1.5 tonnes of dumped items are removed and disposed of on a monthly basis from around the estates. All reports and incidents are recorded, evidence is gathered where possible, and appropriate action is taken. We also work with other organisations as needed.
Our handyperson service is dedicated to providing a small jobs service for residents living in our retirement schemes and vulnerable customers. The service is assessed on individual circumstances and eligibility, for example if no friends or family live locally, and other criteria including age and/or vulnerability.
Customers are responsible for providing any fixtures needed for the job.
All blocks of flats managed by Silva Homes have a cleaning service. Smaller blocks, as detailed in tenancy agreements, should be cleaned between visits by residents.
