Meet Winnie
99-year-old Winnie moved into Broadway House in 2016.
Her previous house was too large for one person and she found gardening difficult. Moving to Broadway House has helped her to live a stress-free retirement, whilst staying independent.
Although downsizing was a challenge, Winnie doesn't regret her decision: "you just have to relax and do it."
The alterations in her new home enable Winnie to go about her daily life with ease. She can also spend time in Broadway House's large garden, without having to do any weeding!
Winnie loves living in Broadway House and takes every opportunity to attend social events with her neighbours. She goes to bingo twice a week, as well as craft club and coffee mornings, and also enjoys seeing guest speakers, followed by tea and cake.
In Winnie's words...
"I'm very happy here, Broadway House is a lovely place to live - I love the view from my window as you feel you're on top of the trees! Also, all the staff are really attentive, careful and helpful."
