Lift safety checks

Lift safety checks are important to ensure that they can be safely used. Any lifts that are deemed to be unsafe or not operating properly will be removed from service until a qualified mechanic attends to repair them.

Our lifts are serviced every month and have a thorough examination every 6 months.

  • If you live in one of our independent living schemes:
    If you notice one of our lifts is out of service or has an issue, please let one of our independent living colleagues know. They will contact our lift service and maintenance contractor and arrange for an engineer to attend.
  • If you live in one of our general needs apartment blocks:
    If you notice a lift is out of service or has an issue, please call our customer hub on 01344 382 800 who will contact the contractor and arrange for an engineer to attend.

If you are stuck in a lift, you should:

  • If you live in one of our independent living schemes:
    Press the alarm bell, which will call our lift service and maintenance contractor who will dispatch an engineer to get you out as soon as possible.
  • If you live in one of our general needs apartment blocks:
